Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Jingle All The Way - Oh What Fun It Is To See, Tottenham Win Away!
A very promising start to the weekend with Spurs getting a rare (75 from 300 in the league since 1991/92 (!) - away win in the League. Brighton won too, so it's all good.
On the modelling front, work continues on finding something suitable for the loft - at the moment, I'm looking at a Sussex-based layout set in 1968, so the last few remnants of steam and the new era of EMU's and diesels on freight.
It's an idea I've been pondering for a little while, and I quite like the look of it so far.
Also, a bit of a shoutout to Railway Modeller this month - some excellent articles, including a fantastic 08 by Mike Roome, some excellent Gunpowder vans by Neil Rushby, and an 0 Gauge layout called Foxton Mills which is just superb.
Perhaps the magazine article that has impressed me the most recently though comes from the other side of t'pond - in the current Model Railroader Special Edition - 'Great Model Railroads 2008' - there is a picture that just looks so real. I don't think the online versions are quite as good as the printed one - but still, the likes of this give a pretty good impression of how realistic this layout looks.
